The Surfboard Studio - Wetsuit Repair Kit
The Surfboard Studio's Wetsuit Repair Kit is designed for surfers who need a quick repair to keep their wetsuit watertight. The Wetsuit Repair Glue is designed to cure to a flexible elastic rubber ensuring a solid permanent, waterproof bond for any small splits or tears in your wetsuit. For larger repairs, the included neoprene patch can be used. Designed for use with neoprene and rubber, the glue cures within 24 hours, ensuring your wetsuit remains watertight and extending the life of your wetsuit.
CONTENTS:
• Wetsuit Repair Glue (15ml)
• 1 x Applicator Brush
• 1 x Neoprene Patch (1mm)
• 2 x Iron-on Neoprene Tape (1mm)
• 1 x Strip of Heat Shielding Paper (For Ironing On)
• 1 x Large Eye Sewing Needle plus Nylon Thread
DIRECTIONS:
- Preparation: rinse damaged section with fresh water and allow suit to fully dry. Lay suit flat and align torn edges so they meet cleanly without overlapping.
- Apply glue: using the included applicator brush, apply a thin, even layer of the Wetsuit Repair Glue to both sides of the tear. Allow glue to become tacky (usually takes only a few minutes), then firmly press edges together to create a strong bond.
- Reinforce: if needed, for larger tears, use the included neoprene patch by placing over the inside of the repair and glue it using the Wetsuit Repair Glue. Alternatively, use the iron-on neoprene tape for added strength (particularly useful for seams) or stitch the area using the included needle and nylon thread before sealing with the Wetsuit Repair Glue.
- Cure & Seal: allow the repair to cure for up to 24 hours in a dry, ventilated area. Once fully cured, the glue forms a flexible, waterproof seal.
