STAND UP PADDLE BOARDS
FAQ
Q. What's the history of
Stand up Paddle surfing?
A. Best if we send you to
www.standuppaddles.com
Q. What is the
construction of the Stonker boards
A. Light weight
Styrofoam with epoxy composite construction, 3 options: 1 - clear epoxy glass over custom graphics 2 - clear epoxy glass over custom graphics with carbon rails 3 - clear epoxy glass over genuine timber veneer deck. Q. Is weight important A. Yes - a light weight board is essential for maneuverability on small waves. Advanced riders on big waves and strong winds can see the benefits of heavier boards, but for most riders especially people new to the sport LIGHT IS RIGHT The Stonker 102 is 8.8kg (approx. 19 lbs) without fin Q. What are the dimensions A. Were making custom sizes from - 90 x 28.5 x 4 to and 112 x 30 x 4.5 Q. Whats going on with STABILITY? A. THe main factor here is width. Rail shape and outline com into it a bit but the main thing is width. The wider the board and the bigger the thicker the rail the better the stability. Stonker has refined our designs to maximise stability while creating a board that is easy to paddle and surfs well in 6 inches to 6 foot. Q. Can I use my old mal? A. Yep if youre 60kg but for most of us need a wider board, around 28"-30". Even the 12 tandem mals are pretty unstable. Width is everything. (TO ASK A QUESTION ABOUT STONKER BOARDS PLEASE CLICK HERE)
